Our Founder & President

Dear friends,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Lament and Hope, whether you gathered with us in Washington, D.C., or participated online. Your presence, prayers, and support helped create a powerful witness of unity during a moment of deep concern for immigrant families across our nation.

We came together from different traditions, communities, and backgrounds because we share a fundamental conviction: every human being is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity. In worship, prayer, and public advocacy, we affirmed that the Church must not remain silent when our neighbors are living with fear and uncertainty.

The work continues beyond one gathering. May we carry the spirit of Lament and Hope into our congregations, communities, and public life—speaking with courage, serving with compassion, and standing together for justice.

Lament & Hope:
United in Worship & Witness

On June 28, pastors, faith leaders, advocates, and community members gathered at National City Christian Church for Lament and Hope—a service affirming the presence, dignity, and contributions of immigrants to the life of our nation.

Through worship, prayer, Scripture, and testimony, we created space to lament the fear, separation, and suffering experienced by immigrant families while also proclaiming a hope rooted in God’s justice and love.

The gathering reminded us of the power of coming together as one body. Across denominations and traditions, we stood united in the belief that protecting human dignity is not a partisan concern—it is a Gospel responsibility.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in person and online and helped make this sacred gathering possible.

Carrying Our Witness to Capitol Hill

The following day, LCNN leaders and participants brought the message of Lament and Hope to Capitol Hill through meetings with legislators and congressional staff.

We shared the experiences of immigrant families and lifted the concerns of pastors and congregations.

When the Church comes together in unity, we carry more than individual concerns; we carry the collective voice of communities across the nation. LCNN remains committed to ensuring that the realities facing Latino and immigrant families are heard wherever decisions affecting their lives are made.

Pastors Regional Training: New York

LCNN invites pastors and ministry leaders in the New York region to join us for a free day of learning, connection, and leadership development.

The Pastors’ Regional Training will provide practical tools, meaningful conversation, and opportunities to strengthen relationships with other leaders serving their communities.

La Esencia: A Reflection by Dr. Jonathan Calvillo

This month, we are honored to feature a new La Esencia theological reflection written by Dr. Jonathan Calvillo.

Rather than allowing legal status or political divisions to define our neighbors, Dr. Calvillo reminds us that the Church is called to cultivate communities of belonging, where every person is seen, valued, and invited to participate in the flourishing of society. Through worship, advocacy, and compassionate accompaniment, the Church becomes a living witness to the inclusive love of Christ.
